One of our primary goals setting up Transition Sk8 Ramps is that it would become a "virtuous circle" of investment that would generate and regenerate funding for skate related projects that support mental health and well being as well as supporting disadvantaged communities.
We also actively promote diversity and inclusion with a particular emphasis in supporting the opportunities associated with neurodiversity that is particularly prevalent within the skate community.
With foundations in dialectical behavioral therapy, street art and skateboarding, Skate of Mind offers both group and 1:1 mentoring and coaching programs that provide vital mental health support as well as valuable life skills that build self esteem, resilience and a sense of belonging within a nurturing community.
This exciting project is committed to breathing new life into one of Sorø's beautiful historical buildings by developing a skatepark as a recreational facility and a safe space for all that is accessible, affordable and above all, that offers a unique sense of community and support that is an essential part of urban design.
